The Northumberland Public Library serves residents and visitors of all ages in Northumberland County as a center for free access to multi-media information and library materials; to offer instructional, educational, and cultural opportunities; and to engage and partner with community groups and organizations, by offering the use its facilities and through its services, programs, and activities.
The Library provides public computers with internet access. A Library card is required to access the computers. Guest passes are available for visitors. Patrons must accept and adhere to our Internet Use Policy. Parents are responsible for supervising their children’s access to the internet.
High speed wireless internet is provided by the library for public use. See login information below.

You can renew and/or reserve items using the Library’s website or, call 804-580-5051 during library hours and a staff member will assist you.
Specialized books not owned by the Library may be requested through Interlibrary loan for a cost of $4.00 per book. Ask a staff member at the circulation desk for more information.
21 Days: General circulation, books, and magazines, except the current issue. Items can be renewed one time, if not on reserve or new.
7 Days: DVDs can be renewed one time, if they are not on reserve.
E-books are available through our resource link. Patrons need a library card to borrow eBooks. The loan period is 2 weeks or as listed.
Our meeting room is available for community or nonprofit agency meetings. Provided here the application for use. Ask a staff member for more information.
